Sequim Bay State Park is a nice spot to launch kayaks into the bay and to walk or bike along the Olympic Discovery Trail. The very well developed trail runs right through the park, leaving the opportunity to explore either West towards the cute town of Sequim or East near the coast for miles.
The campground has RV hookup spots as well as tent camping loops, all nestled into the Pacific Northwest lush, green forest. There are showers for a few tokens and a couple hiking trails in the park leading to the water and the small marina.
Our stay was a relaxing and nature filled couple of days. When we kayaked East into the bay, we saw grey seals frolicking nearby, a bald eagle swooping through nearby trees, and small jellyfish just beneath the water. The only negative of the experience was that kayaking back to the park upwind was truly a workout and a little difficult.
The Olympic Discovery Trail, going West especially was a peaceful, easy stroll through the forest. There were many blackberry bushes that we could pick right off of (they are an invasive species, so this is doing a service) along with a large variety of other foliage. It also would be a very pleasant bike ride, with only small inclines and relatively little traffic.
Sequim Bay State Park is worth a visit for the peaceful, natural surroundings, and the great access it provides to the bay and forest.
